Inside Vessel Tool
- Measures the inside diameter of your vessel.
- Ideal for jars with threads or internal features, providing a snug fit.
Outside Vessel Tool
- Measures the outside diameter of your vessel.
- Requires accounting for any external threads or variations when measuring.
Both tools offer the same functionality during candle making. The choice depends on your vessel type and personal preference.

How to Measure the Inside Diameter and Outside Diameter of a Candle Jar Vessel

Materials:
A ruler or a caliper (for more precise measurements)
A candle jar vessel
Instructions:
1. Preparing the Candle Jar:
Ensure the candle jar vessel is clean and free from any residue or wax.
Place the jar on a flat, stable surface.
2. Measuring the Inside Diameter: a. Using a Ruler:
Position the ruler across the top opening of the jar, ensuring it touches the inner sides.
Read the measurement from one inner side of the jar directly across to the opposite inner side. This measurement is your inside diameter.
b. Using a Caliper:
Extend the caliper's jaws.
Position one jaw on one inner side of the jar and the other jaw on the opposite inner side.
Ensure the caliper is straight and not at an angle.
Tighten the jaws to get a snug fit and read the measurement. This value is your inside diameter.
3. Measuring the Outside Diameter: a. Using a Ruler:
Position the ruler across the top of the jar, ensuring it touches the outer sides.
Read the measurement from one outer side of the jar directly across to the opposite outer side. This measurement is your outside diameter.
b. Using a Caliper:
Extend the caliper's jaws.
Position one jaw on one outer side of the jar and the other jaw on the opposite outer side.
Ensure the caliper is straight and not at an angle.
Tighten the jaws to get a snug fit and read the measurement. This value is your outside diameter.
Tips:
Always measure from the widest points whether measuring the inside or outside diameter.
If you're uncertain of the accuracy of your measurement, it's a good practice to measure multiple times to ensure consistency.
Remember, precise measurements are crucial if the diameter is needed for fitting lids or other accessories.
Selecting the number of wicks depends on your vessel size and the desired heat and scent throw:
Single Wick:
- Ideal for smaller vessels (generally under 3 inches in diameter).
- Provides a simple, even burn with less maintenance.
Double Wick:
- Recommended for medium vessels (around 3–4 inches in diameter).
- Ensures a more even melt pool and can increase fragrance throw.
Triple or Quadruple Wick:
- Best for larger vessels (4 inches or more in diameter).
- Multiple wicks help achieve a complete melt pool and stronger scent diffusion.
As a rule of thumb, the larger the diameter, the more wicks you may consider using for optimal performance. Choose the device configuration that matches your vessel size to create a beautifully consistent burn.

We offer fast and free shipping for orders over $35 within the contiguous United States (does not include Hawaii, Alaska, or US territories).
Orders shipped outside the United States are subject to taxes and duties that are paid for by the customer.
Yes, we do offer expedited shipping for domestic orders, you will be able to choose the expedited shipping options when checking out.
Our orders have a 5-7 day turn around before shipping, but we are happy to work with you to expedite our order processing if needed.
Delivery times vary depending on the destination and the shipping method selected.
- Standard Shipping (USPS – Continental U.S.): 3-5 business days.
- Expedited Shipping: 1-3 business days.
- International Shipping (GlobalPost): 5-14 days on average, but may take longer due to customs processes in your country.
